This portfolio aims to showcase my writing journey I have gone through during my college career. The texts I have included start with one of the first writing assignments I was assigned in college, a poem. From there on the texts follow my writing evolution through a short story, an explication of Shakespeare's Sonnet 116, a unit plan, a lesson plan, then finally to a short formal reflection on composition which showcases some of what I have learned regarding writing and composition at this stage of my life.
I chose this wide variety of texts because I felt that they accurately represented me as an individual as well as my growth as a writer. The texts shed light on my interests and beliefs as well as the bumpy road I had through college to decide which role I wanted my writing to take on.
There are some good aspects to these texts, and some bad. Certain texts I included I am very proud of, while others, not so much. Which is exactly why this portfolio acts as a learning tool for myself, a way for me to look back on my work and see how far I have come. Though, it also acts as a reflection on my progress to my readers; to help my readers understand just how elaborate the journey of establishing oneself as a writer in college really is.
